Large Scale Projects
ESD
has engaged in several long-term, large scale environmental services contracts.
Here are just a few of our projects, along with descriptions of the services
provided:
Chevron Canada (2006 - 2007):
For Chevron Canada’s deep-water drilling program on the Orphan Basin
offshore Newfoundland, providing oceanographic services, weather forecasting
services, provision and installation of meteorological equipment for the Eirik
Raude. In addition to the operational component Provincial will be providing
environmental summaries and analysis at the completion of the project.
Marathon Oil (2001 -Present): For Marathon Oil's deep-water drilling
program on the Annapolis Block offshore Nova Scotia, providing oceanographic
services, weather forecasting services, provision and installation of
meteorological equipment for the drill ship West Navion. In addition to the
operational component Provincial will be providing environmental summaries and
analysis at the completion of the project.
Hibernia Management & Development Co, Ltd. (2001 - Present): Providing ice
management services to assist Hibernia Management and Development Co. This
service included: data collection, ice analysis, and ice situation briefings
and reports.
Terra Nova Project (1999 - Present): Providing ice and environmental
services to the Terra Nova project for all drilling to date, as well as
providing and installing meteorological equipment and ice reconnaissance
services. Under this contract, Provincial operates a joint industry Ice Centre
that provides ice and environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Husky Oil Ltd. (1999 - Present): For Husky Oil drilling program on the
White Rose field, provided ice and environmental services for the rigs Bill
Shoemaker and SEDCO 714; providing oceanographic services, weather forecasting
services, provision and installation of meteorological equipment for the Global
Santa Fe Grand Banks, Sea Rose FPSO and Rowan Gorilla VI. In addition to the
operational component Provincial will be providing environmental summaries and
analysis at the completion of the projects.
Also, in addition to the usual services provided, Husky Oil has
designated Provincial as their ice management information provider for the
White Rose development project.
Exxon-Mobil (2001 - 2002): For
Exxon-Mobile drilling program at the Bandol field, in French Territorial waters
south of Saint Pierre, providing environmental services, regional ice
monitoring, and the provision and installation of meteorological equipment for
the MODU Glomar Grand Banks. In addition to the operational component
Provincial will be providing environmental summaries and analysis at the
completion of the project.
Jean d’Arc Basin Operations (1998 - 2000): Provided ice and
environmental monitoring services for a two-year, multi-operator exploration
program. Additional services contracted were: provision and installation of
meteorological equipment and ice reconnaissance services. Ice/weather observers
were situated on the drilling rig throughout the drilling programs, providing
helicopter weather reports, synoptic weather reports, ice observing and
management services, radar watch, current profiles, marine bird surveys and
other related services.
Hibernia Management & Development Co, Ltd. (2000): Provided
emergency ice management services to assist Hibernia Management and Development
Co. during the 2000 ice season. This service included: data collection, ice
analysis, and ice situation briefings and reports.
Canadian Ice Services, Environment Canada (1993 - Present): Providing regional
iceberg reconnaissance over the Canadian East Coast and the Davis Strait. Under
this contract PAL Environmental provide both the reconnaissance platform and
operations personnel along with first line data analysis and processing.
